Based in Cardiff, this museum was named the Museum of the Year at a prestigious awards ceremony, beating the newly built V&A Dundee, as well as the First World War cruiser HMS Caroline in Belfast and Nottingham Contemporary.

In 2017, St Fagans museum underwent a £30 million refurbishment to bring a fresh, modern look to the popular heritage attraction from the ground up.

Aside from the clean white lines, abundance of light reflecting glass and quirky furniture, the museum also chose a deluxe flooring solution to inject new life and vibrancy into its main building.

The terrazzo solution, chosen in sleek, contemporary grey utilises a blend of recycled crushed clear, coloured and mirror glass with metallic particles also included. This hint of sparkle creates a glamorous and ultra modern finish underfoot, contrasting with, but perfectly framing the historical contents of the museum.

The seamless nature of this flooring solution also meant that the flooring could be quickly and easily cleaned, ensuring a spotless and welcoming environment for each visitor.

This popular heritage attraction includes more than 40 historical buildings, ranging from a Tudor merchant’s house to a Victorian country school, all set within 100 acres of parkland.

As well as winning ‘Museum of the Year”, St Fagans also won the ‘Large Commercial Project of the Year‘ Award at the FeRFA 2017 Awards ceremony.
